Say What????

Okay listen I hate reporting on things that I don't have the full story on but this was too good to let go Kelly Rowland has parted ways with Matthew Knowles managment. A show of hands to who didn't see this one coming for sometime. Here is the story from MTV News.

Destiny's Child sang on their 2000 hit "Independent Woman" that they depend on themselves to pay their own bills. Perhaps founding member Kelly Rowland is taking that motto to heart.

The singer announced in a joint statement Wednesday (January 28) with Mathew Knowles that the two are severing their working relationship. Knowles is Beyoncé's father and manages her, in addition to her sister Solange, and Destiny's Child. He also oversaw Rowland's career since she released her first solo LP, 2002's Simply Deep.

"Mathew Knowles has been a positive influence in my career," Rowland said in the statement. "I have had great success under his guidance — both as a member of Destiny's Child and with my solo projects. Although we have decided to part ways professionally, the Knowles family and the entire Music World Entertainment team will always be my family."

Destiny's Child split in 2005 but have maintained the split is not permanent.

The move comes more than a year after Rowland's last album, 2007's Ms.Kelly. The album was delayed a number of times, but upon its release, the project was received well by critics. The album, featuring the single "Like This" with Eve, however, failed to live up to the commercial success of her debut, which sold over 500,000 copies and was certified gold.

Rowland was practically raised by the Knowles family, making the split that much more surprising. The singer moved into the Knowles' Texas home during the formation of Destiny's Child and often refers to Beyoncé as her sister. Mathew Knowles acknowledged their ties, saying Rowland will always continue to be a part of the Knowles clan.

He also stressed that no animosity was involved in this business separation.

"After a very positive meeting between Kelly Rowland and myself, we have amicably agreed to end our professional relationship," he said in the statement. "My company, Music World, will continue to manage Destiny's Child as a group. As an artist Kelly has incredible talent and I only wish her the best. We will always be family first and foremost, and as a dad I only have love for Kelly."

As of press time, it is unclear if Rowland has retained new management

Jennifer Hudson Has filmed a new video "If this isn't Love" which is set to be released Febuary 9th Also don't forget JHud is singing the national Anthem at the superbowl. Good Luck Jennifer even though we know you don't need it.

Kelly Clarkson Is back on Fire. She made the biggest leap from #97 to #1 on the billboard hot 100 charts. Now people this is why we continued to watch American Idol Clarkson and Hudson are doing their things.

In Music News:

It seems that after about two years our favorite Idol Kelly Clarkson comes back with her Fourth Album: All I ever wanted. The new single "My Life Would Suck Without You" Is gaining more airplay since it has hit the airwaves Mid week and is #1 on itunes for the third day straight. The Album is set to be released March 17,2009 and it already looks like she has a super hit on her hands. Congrats Kelly..

Taylor Swift Has hit the eighth straight week at number 1# on the billboard top 200 charts. If you recall it's peek started right before the new year and she hasn't stopped since then. I guess a broken heart is marketable when your last Boyfriend was on of the Jo Bros.

Lil Wayne has a new project called "rebirth" this will be a rock album yes a rock album. According to Wayne's interview with MTV this album won't be associated with "Tha Carter 3" and he isn't quite sure if there will be a Carter 4 now that this project is coming out so I guess we will see. Rebirth is due to come out April 7th.

As I reported about 3 days ago Bill O the clown and Dennis "Bitch ass" Miller decided to call out Young Jeezy and JayZ for some choice words For Mr.Bush and wanted to make it their personal mission to try to link an expression of the liberation of America to single parents and hign numbers in the jail system which was to me a very racist and uncalled for statement. Jeezy responded via MTV News here's the reply:We already know how both Jay-Z and Jeezy feel about O'Reilly — we've heard it in their music. On Monday (January 19), before performing "My President" at the Warner Theater, Jeezy talked to MTV News about the importance of the record and what he was trying to express.

"Music is how you feel," Jeezy said about being inspired to write "My President." "But if I can say one word, I'll say 'necessary.' I felt it was necessary. I never ever paid attention to any election. Not really [into] politics or anything like that. It never benefited us. This time around, it's not a black-or-white thing — you got somebody in there for us that's well-spoken and gonna handle their business. I just wanted to do my part and let them know we need change, we need help, it's rough out there."

Jeezy said that he plans on releasing the remix for "My President," and that Jay-Z's was just the first verse of the remix we heard.

"The song was powerful already with Nas — now Jay is on there, we got a few more people on the remix. It's not even the song [that's important], it's the message. You still get bits and pieces out of there. You get your 'president is black, Lambo is blue,' but it's bits and pieces in there. You gotta listen. I ain't talking fast, y'all just listening slow."

The Atlanta rapper also described his time in Washington, D.C. over the past few days as an amazing experience.

"It's crazy, man, just to see the energy, just to see the support. All these millions of people are here for one cause," he illustrated. "Everybody is out here. I got a couple of homies who drove from Atlanta, who flew in from Atlanta. The kids are out here. The clubs are crazy, the parties. It's big."

Why I am Not a Beyonce Fan....

I have been finding myself being asked this for years now and it has always been something I have never really answered it because to me it would be pointless to explain to a hardcore Beyonce fan. As I have been forced to deal with this so here it is. In the late 90's I was a Destiny's child fan and I loved the group because they seemed to be original and new and wasn't trying to be anything more then themselves. I brought albums and sang their songs and watched everything they did. By the second album "The writing on the wall" by the cover it seemed that the group had changed they went from standing together smiling on the first album cover to Beyonce up front and the rest of the group behind her with mugs on their faces. I really didn't pay much attention to it so I pressed on with liking the group and loved the album. One day the rumor mill started say their was trouble in the group as most rumors start when hey get popular and I brushed it off until I saw the video for my favorite song "say my name" where to of the original group members were gone and replaced just that fast. It was mind blowing because it wasn't until that point that this was addressed that Latoya and Latavia were out and Michelle and Fariah was in. As a hardcore fan of Destiny's child this rubbed me the wrong way and I pulled back from their music. As time went by the rumor mill started again saying that the reason they were out was due to management and the way that they were being treated. Not knowing how true this was I decided that not to deal with the drama and move on,Then Fariah was out and immediately did an interview with sister to sister about how it was in the group and how she was treated and how Matthew favored Beyonce to be the lightest one in the group this was identical to what was said before. Needless to say I no longer cared much for the group if they had a song I liked then fine if not then fine. With the release of "Survivor" you saw that this was clearly the Supremes when Florence Ballard was booted out then the name changed to Diana Ross and the Supremes. Beyonce had all main vocals even when they did harmonies Beyonces mic was louder then the other group members (Compare first album to last album you will hear the difference) In Concert it was Beyonce who would move more and the other members would stay still. So it was no surprise when Beyonce wanted to now do movies which was cool with me I loved "Gold member" then came Her solo album "Dangerously In Love" which was a song that was on the "Survivor" album The song's were ok and cool for the club in summer. While this was going on there started the Beyonce PR train. She was everywhere, Winning awards over better artist and her sound wasn't anything special. After that wave Destiny's child got back together for "Destiny fulfiled" which was an ok album I loved the songs where Kelly showcased her vocals such as "Bad Habit". We then learned that Beyonce would play Deena Jones in "Dreamgirls" Which was a part she was born to play. I then noticed that the cult of Beyonce started to emerge. I was familiar with Dreamgirls the stage play and I knew the story from cover to cover so I knew that Effie was the character that the story really was about. Somehow the cult followers thought that this film was about Beyonce's character and trying to explain that it wasn't I was met with words such as "hater" which I didn't understand because liked her and the group at one point but when it came to her as a solo act I wasn't moved at all. The movie came out and as I had said Jennifer Hudson as Effie was clearly the star in that film. They screamed Oscar for Beyonce and I didn't see it because Deena Jones was too much like Beyonce in real life it wasn't a streach for her to play this role. She was nominated for a Golden Globe which I didn't understand but needless to say she didn't win and her father was pissed off that she didn't win and sighted "racism" as to why she didn't win however, Jennifer Hudson and Forest Whitiker won that night. In an interview after the globes Beyonce was quoted to saying when asked about how did she feel about Jennifer's Oscar Buzz she said "I have Grammy's so people already know I can sing. I wish I could have gained 20 pounds to win an oscar" It was clear that she was not as humble as she wanted people to believe. Then came this album "Bday" which featured "listen" in which she claimed to write when this song was nominated for an oscar Beyonce's name was removed which in the rules of the Oscar's if a song has more then 3 writers then it is disqualified. Also what came from this was "irreplacible" in which she was quoted to saying I wanted to write this song for the ladies she didn't write this song all she did was vocal arrangments. From this album also came the song "Still in love (kissing you)" in which she was sued for Copyright Infringement by the writer of the song British singer Des'ree for changing the name of the song and shooting a video for it as well the song came from the Romeo and Juliet movie staring Leo Dicaprio and Clair Danes, Also "get me bodied" in which the concept was taken from "Sweet Charity". The album wasn't a huge selling album for her but did well on the charts. A little later word caught on that Beyonce was playing Etta James, I was confused because I do not think that Beyonce is right for these parts that she wants to play and after seeing Cadillac Records I was still at a lose because knowing what I knew about Etta James she wasn't right to play her. There was Oscar buzz for again No reason. The cast outside of her in the film was great and there needed to be Oscar buzz for Jeffery Wright and Columbus Short in Cadillac Records but no Beyonce. She was nominated for the song "Once In a Lifetime" because she claimed she once again wroted the song and come to find out she didn't write it at all, the song was written before the movie was given the greenlight there was a clip of the writter performing the song almost 2 years ago but has been pulled from youtube since people realized this was the song she claimed to have once again written. She didn't win the Golden Globes. With this new album the video "Single Ladies" where it was clear to a Bob Fosse fan like myself that these were his signature moves and she finaly after a while owned up to where she got it from. So people as I have always said that I didn't have a problem with her before overtime she has proven time and time again that she is just what she is. There is no true artistry to her she shakes alot and she wears lots of hair and make up but if you take that all away what is she? she can not act, Her vocals are ok for more gospel I think and don't take credit for something you had very little to nothing to do with. She plays on here fans lack of exposure. Examples:

Dreamgirls-Most of Beyonce's fans had no idea that this was a stage play because
there would be no reason to think that the story was about "Deena Jones"

Get Me Bodied-Most Beyonce fans have no idea what Sweet Charity is.

BET performance of Get Me Bodied-Most Beyonce fans have no idea that the robot scene came from Kylie Minogue's Fever Tour in 2000, let alone who Kylie Minogue is.

Cadillac Records- Most Beyonce fans have no idea who Etta James is.

I feel that she knows who her audiences is and for the most part it is young Gay Boys and older woman are her target audience. The beat's work for the Girl's (Gay boy's) because all we need is a beat to shake. Older woman need anthems and Irreplacible and Single ladies is something they can chant. There are so many people in this industry that talents dance circles around her and I get annoyed at the fact that people go straight to Beyonce when they say talent i.e. Jill Scott. Now you know my reason and no I'm not a hater go on make your money. However as a person who loves all kinds of music and appriciate true artist that have more then one skill I don't see what the big deal is with Beyonce.
So if you have comments about this which I am sure you all will come with something better then the word "hater" because I'm not hating I am just stating the facts.

So Help Me God!

I watched yesterday as Barack H.Obama raised his hand and took oath for office. I saw happy faces, a day full of love and compassion. I also felt like I could finally take a deep breath because as a young black man I felt that the flag that I use to pleadge too was finally mine to wave. I felt that the beginning of the dream that Dr. King once had was finally starting to show true. As I am 25 yrs old. I remember reading about the civil rights movement and the anger I had once I saw the series "Roots" I really feel like the blood, sweat and tears that I shell out at work and everything that I work hard for are really apart of this country. Bill O The clown of fixed news repoted that JayZ and Young Jeezy said some choice words about Bush and they had no cut cards and I agree with them. (Fuck Bush and all his followers... Bye you bitch ass) I also want to call out the asshole with the camera phone who taped it and emailed it to fixed news.

In Movie News:

Notorious opened last friday at #4 with 21.5 millon dollars.

People I am telling you Angela Bassett can do no wrong however this movie was the worst. With respect to Big's Mom I think that a story that a mother tells should never be touched however when a there is too many people involved who was included in the film ie. Diddy it seemed to me his character came out smelling like a rose when we've heard stories of what things were really like. I felt that there was more drama to this movie then there needed to be when Big was around I was a fan still am. I felt that the books and now the movie was all too much not really away to be remembered. This is a DVD Movie... Ps. oscar Nominations comes out tomorrow... I have my pics do you?

Jennifer Hudson to sing the National Anthem

Associated Press
NEW YORK -- Jennifer Hudson is using sports' grandest stage -- the Super Bowl -- to make her return to the spotlight following the slayings of her mother, brother and 7-year-old nephew.

NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy confirmed Wednesday that Hudson will sing the national anthem at the Super Bowl in Tampa, Fla., on Feb. 1.

Hudson hasn't made a public appearance since her 57-year-old mother, Darnell Hudson Donerson; 29-year-old brother Jason Hudson; and 7-year-old nephew Julian King were slain in Chicago in October. Her estranged brother-in-law has been charged in the killings.

Hudson, who had released her self-titled debut album shortly before the killings, is also scheduled to sing at the Grammys' MusiCares event in Los Angeles a few days later. She is nominated for four awards at the Feb. 8 Grammy Awards.

The 27-year-old Hudson already has an Oscar to her credit, a best supporting actress win for her role in "Dreamgirls. " The former "American Idol" contestant's career was continuing its skyrocketing rise, with featured roles in movies like "Sex and the City" and "The Secret Life of Bees," as well as her album release, when the slayings occurred.

The Super Bowl is one of the most viewed spectacles on television. Bruce Springsteen is scheduled to sing during halftime of the pro football championship game.

Janet Takes Rock Wit U Tour To Japan

Janet Jackson is now taking her Rock Witchu Tour overseas! Miss Jackson was forced to postpone a number of her shows in the U.S. after falling “ill” and then she just scrapped the rescheduled shows altogether due to “conflicts” in her schedule which is just a cover up for poor ticket sales. Janet is scheduled to perform four shows in Japan between Feb.14-22, 2009. This will be Janet’s first performance in Japan in almost six years! Well, she couldn’t win over her U.S. audience, so hopefully she still has some fans on the other side of the world. Then again taking her tour to Japan is probably a good look ’cause fans overseas love anyone from the states!

Also Discipline has re-entered the Billboard us charts after all this time and with no promotion as you all can see people this is the real thing here.

Jennifer Hudson Will not be performing at the Inauguration due to the fact that the court case of the murder of her family. She will be performing next month at the Grammy's which she is up for 4 awards. Also Rhianna has been added to the performers of the night. JayZ is doing a concert the night before that tickets start in the 300's. Alicia Keys and Aretha will also take the stage. Still No word if Beyonce is performing or not probably at Jayz's concert.

Happy New Year All...

We Bring the new Year in with Music News.. Some of you thought that she didn't have it in her but Brit-Brit went Platinum in the USA and Australia I guess she should have saved here catch phrase for this album "It's Britney Bitch" Congrats Brit.

Also we have on the Billboard top 200 charts. 1-Taylor Swift 2-Beyonce 3-Britney Spears.. Keisha Cole has slipped from #2 to #7. Jamie Foxx went from #3-#9 Wow.

Back to Keisha Cole's New Cd I listened to a few cuts off of it Make me over,You complete me, This is us. I did hear the growth in her and I left that it was moving in new direction However this kinda reminded me of the direction of Share my world by Mary. Now I am not one to compare but if the music buisness is all about replacing the artist we currently have then seriously why do we buy it? I am not looking for another Mary J. I would say to Keisha there is nothing wrong with introducing the world to the Keisha vibe. 3.5 stars

Musiq's new CD is on point and has my pick as this years most under rated album out right now. This is what being an artist is all about different music and lyrics that speak to from and to the heart. 4 stars...

Now that is offically awards season Kicking off with the peoples choice awards tomorrow night at 8pm Good Luck Brit...

Golden Globes come on Sunday and which as I see it Beyonce is nominatedfor a song from Cadillac records.

but I strongly doubt she will win with Springstein on the ballot as well. January 11,2009

One of my favorite Awards has to be The Screen Actors Guild Awards Because you can't fake it with your peers. January 25, 2009 is when that comes on....

Oscar Nominations will be announced January 22,2009 at 5am pt/8am et
