Grammy Wrap up... And The Black indroduction to Taylor Swift

Last nights Grammy's were the most entertaining then they have been in years: Let's dig in Lady GaGa won 2 Grammy's including Best dance album Taylor Swift won top honor with Album of the year. Beyonce won a record 6 Grammy's including Song of the year. Maxwell won 3 include Best male R&B.

Now on to Performances:

Lady GaGa w/Sir Elton John- Poker Face/Speechless.This was true GaGa fashion and it wasn't her best but It was GaGa enough said.

Beyonce - If I was a Boy. This performance sucked, she wore Rihanna's old dress and GaGa shoes 60 dancers for nothing it was a full mess and it was very forgetable.

Pink- OMG! she was wonderful with her cirque du soleil inspired performance was a huge step in fake divas to up their games because she sang through it all..

Maxwell w/Roberta Flack- Love me some Maxwell But Roberta and the Icon she is wasnt her best so I'll leave it at that.

MJ Tribute- Celine, Jennifer,Carrie,Smokey and God help him Usher.Outside of Usher's knee dropping I need to save my career anticts it wasn't thtat bad. Now Back to Usher and his waist of space fake MJ ass singing out of key I mean sit your dumb ass down you are so not even current.

Now My Rant: BEYONCE
she has 16t Grammy's now with Last night's wins. I saw fans counted her DC grammy's as well and you can't she's a solo artist. Beyonce's wins are so so because she won all R&B 1 pop and 1 traditional and song of the year which is ok but out of 16 awards she doesn't have any of the huge awards now I know you all are like well she got them. WEll if she don't have atleast one Album/Record of the year you ain't much.

Ladies and Gents can I introduce you all to Ms.Taylor Swift:

People deal with it ok Taylor has had 2 albums the first did very well and the second took off running. Fearless was Released November 11,2008 yes 2008.The album debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 Album Chart. Its sales of 592,304 were the highest debut of any country artist in 2008. This is also the largest opening U.S. sales week in 2008 by a female artist in all genres of music, and the fourth biggest overall behind Lil Wayne, AC/DC and Coldplay.[51] Its lead single "Love Story" became a hit on both the country and pop charts. During the first week of release, more than 129,000 of Swift's sales were sold digitally. This gives Swift the best online start for any country album in history. It also makes Swift the fourth biggest week for a digital album since Nielsen SoundScan began tracking them in 2004.[53] Through its eighth week of release, Fearless has sold more than 338,467 paid downloads, making it the bestselling country album in digital history. In second place is Swift's debut Taylor Swift with sales of 236,046 downloads as of April 18, 2009.
She was the first artist in the history of Nielsen SoundScan to have two different albums in the Top 10 on the year end album chart.[5] It also was the first album by a female artist in country music history to log eight weeks at #1 on The Billboard 200. In mid-January 2009, Swift became the first country artist to top the 2 million mark in paid downloads with three different songs.
At the end of 2009, the Associated Press named Swift "Entertainer of the Year".[84] "Fearless" was the best-selling album of 2009 in the US with more than 3.2 millions copies sold in that year. Swift claimed both the #1 and #2 positions atop Nielsen's BDS Top 10 Most Played Songs chart (all genres), with "You Belong With Me" and "Love Story," respectively. She also topped the all format 2009 Top 10 Artist Airplay chart with over 1.29 million song detections, and the Top 10 Artist Internet Streams chart with more than 46 million song plays.
The album debuted at number one on the U.S. Billboard 200, selling 592,304 copies in its first week, the best first-week sales for a female artist in 2008. Fearless became the first album to sell one million copies in 2009
The album was re-released as Fearless: Platinum Edition with six new songs on October 26, 2009.

Great post, as always. I love Pink and Lady Gaga and love watching them both perform. As far as Beyonce, I agree, I am not impressed by her and can't believe that she has stolen the hearts of so many Americans. It's disappointing when there are so many other talented artists out there. I will say that I loved Destiny's Child, but since she went solo, I just can't get on board. In regard to Taylor Swift, I so like her and her music. I don't know if she should be winning everything (I just never liked the culture that a handful of artists clean up every year), but she does deserve fame and fortune. Thanks for blogging...keep it up.
